HHCLA is #STILLOPEN

When COVID-19 hit, most social services agencies shut down. HHCLA did not. Instead, we organized donation drives for hand sanitizer, PPE and face coverings while keeping our doors open.

The #STILLOPEN campaign is inspired by social innovation happening on the daily at HHCLA. We are proud of what we've accomplished in the midst of this pandemic. Thanks to the generosity of local businesses and community members, we have distributed thousands of masks, meal bags, hygiene kits, tents and naloxone kits. In March, we did an agency-wide pivot and took our medical services to the street. We reconfigured the layout at each of our sites, providing on-the-spot telehealth services for counseling sessions while maintaining social distancing. In eight weeks, the ReFresh Spot provided almost 40,000 units of service in the form of showers, laundry and access to the restroom.
